Known as the district capital of the Ada East District of the Greater Accra Region, Ada is a town located on the western shore of the Volta River. Ada is the destination of the renowned, annual Asafotufiami Festival that transpires in the first week of August and is one of the major activities in the district. The occasion commemorates ancient wars and draws a huge crowd of people to Ada. Take a trip to Ada along the coast of Accra, where it exhausts into the Gulf of Guinea.
